Case Company 2010 – Tivoli A/S
Tivoli is Europe’s oldest amusement park and one of Denmark’s national symbols. The name has become synonymous with amusement parks in Scandinavia, and this year is Tivoli’s 167th season.
CBS Case Competition presents Tivoli A/S as this year’s case. Students from 12 international business schools are competing on ways to help Tivoli make more of its earnings potential. At the same time, the students are to come up with ideas in connection with experience economy and find new ways of developing and creating value in terms of the Tivoli brand.
Improved earnings
According to Tivoli’s CFO Claus Dyhr, there are a number of obvious approaches that the business students may adopt.
- Should Tivoli open up for another season and if so, which one? How great is the potential of the Tivoli Hotel? Is there a way to brand Tivoli’s restaurants as out-of-season hot spots? Because it is not possible to try out all the suggestions at once, it is important to choose the right project at the right time, Claus Dyhr said in his introduction to the case presentation.
The competing business students are to hand in their suggestions no later than 4 March 2010 at 20:00, and the winner will be announced the following day.
