Learn all about apparel, fashion, and cultural traditions of clothing of the entire world.
Berg Fashion Library is based on the comprehensive Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion.
“The aim of the encyclopedia has been to raise the ambitions and turn the spotlight on fashion and apparel from a global perspective”, explains Lise Skov, Associate professor at the Department of Intercultural Communication and Management and editor of the volume dealing with Western Europe
The most extensive source of information on fashion and clothing
The encyclopedia is the first of its kind, encompassing the various cultural traditions of clothing of the entire world.
Now an electronic version has been released and is presented with a selection of e-books and a multitude of images in the Berg Fashion Library database.
Doing an assignment on the fashion industry
For students and scholars alike the Berg fashion Library is a storehouse of information, which offers one single entry to lots of information, current, historical, and geographical, about clothing and fashion.
Apart from a comprehensive encyclopedia, the database contains various e-books, e.g. ”
The Anatomy of Fashion
” and ”
Dressing the Elite
”, and more than 4000 images from the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
“Now the library offers a thorough and valid source of information on fashion and it has thus become much easier to identify relevant background information when doing an assignment on the fashion industry”, says Liselotte Brandstrup, subject specialist at CBS Library
