During the last couple of years the use of electronic materials has strongly increased while we have seen a dramatically decrease in the use of printed books. Due to this fact CBS Library is now focusing on e-resources and less on printed books.

We have taken the consequences: Therefore, during each of the 4 years (2009-2012) we will gather all printed materials at Solbjerg Plads. Therefore, each of the 4 years CBS Library will transfer 25 % of the collection from Dalgas Have, and we will start by moving the less demanded materials.

CBS Library is not an ’either or’ library but a ’both and’ library. In many years from now we will still be delivering printed materials but we have to acknowledge that the demand for printed books is steadily decreasing and therefore we have to give high priority to electronic materials.

As the long opening hours at Solbjerg Plads will give better access to our printed materials we hopefully believe that this reorganization will lead to an increase of use. As more space will be available at Dalgas Have we intend to improve the study facilities copying the non-book model at Porcelænshaven.
