Regulations governing the conversion of printed texts to digital form
You can provide easy access to originally printed books, journals, etcetera by way of scanning and digitization.
According to the regulations as described in the framework agreement on the reproduction of materials protected by copyright law you are permitted to scan and thus digitizing 20 %, constituting no more than 20 pages, of any given publication per student per semester. This rule applies independently of the year of publication.
The scanned text is saved as a file and access must be protected by password, e.g. in SiteScape or CBS Learn. An individual agreement with the rights holder about digitization of more than 20 pages can be pursued if necessary.
Linking to e-articles
When linking to electronic articles you need a certain type of link that will lead directly to the articles, e.g. DOI. Apart from this the link will have to be prepped for remote access to provide off-campus access to CBS students.
How to locate an article
Use Libsearch and enter author name and some words from the title in the search box. Get instructions on How to find an article in Libsearch
Identify the database in which the article appears and read the manuals for the individual databases in the list below.
