Learning for life
Modern society is in constant movement and is ever requiring that you keep up. You are supposed to keep up on the latest political development, the latest literary debate and research in your field. At the same time our information society creates competition via new technology and new knowledge. With the ever increasing need for competent employees, the employees are expected to participate in personal development courses. Continuing education is a must in order to live up to societal demands and to the new job requirements being placed with the mantra: "Learning for life".
But is it enough just to read a newspaper once in a while to keep up?
Or to take a personal development course at a night school?
Academic update
There are lots of ways to get new input. nevertheless, if you want to keep being informed both within your field and academically, there are lots of continuing education possibilities. The selection at CBS stretches from MBA’s over several years to one-week summer courses or Graduate Diplomas, for which you can study while you work.
The different degrees have varying levels and intensity, but they add to the skills you already have developed through your education or job.
It is possible to supplement and update your specialty on one subject or you may acquire entirely new skills by investing in a management education, which could lead you further in your career.
Maybe you have a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration and you need some updating of your communication and mediation skills. Then you may take a part-time Masters in Communication, or spend a week during the summer taking a course in Credit Risk or Strategic Marketing.
New knowledge and collaboration
There are many possibilities for new inspiration, and the continuing education programme delivers the latest knowledge within different areas. A continuing education also gives you the possibility of a view into and collaboration with other groups and jobs, with which you would not usually be in contact. You can read about Malene Lysbeck Mikkelsen who talks about her challenges in writing her Graduate Thesis with an engineer. Or meet us "live" during Research Day on the 5 and 6 of May.
CBS’ continuing education
CBS offers a variety of continuing education, all of which is research-based; and the participants’ professional experiences are at play in a combination of theory and practice.
Hone your network and learn something.
Remember to check off your calendar on 28 September, 2006, the day of the Alumni Event. One more time CBS’ Alumni are invited to get some professional updating as well as a fun time.
Thank you for your help.
With almost 3000 answers CBS had the highest percentage of answers to a branding investigation "Business of Branding", in which 22 different business schools from 11 countries participated.
So thank you for your help!
