Poul Nyrup Rasmussen has been appointed CBS Adjunct Professor

Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, former Social Democrat Prime Minister and present MEP, was appointed CBS Adjunct Professor on 4 April 2005 and gave an inaugural lecture entitled ”National, European and international political management – intertwined or never to meet?” Mr Nyrup Rasmussen’s wide-ranging career within politics and economics makes him a valuable asset to CBS’ development within the fields of politics, economics and globalisation.
”It is a great honour for us to welcome Poul Nyrup Rasmussen to CBS,” says Professor Niels Åkerstrøm. ”His political commitment and economic expertise, his national and international career, and his knowledge of and insight in the challenges of globalisation make him an exceptional resource and asset to CBS in the years to come – and we are very much looking forward to working with him.”
"It is obvious to me that CBS has changed from being the business school of the ambitious briefcase brigade into an institution of higher education offering a much wider range of disciplines that are relevant to bringing the Danish business community into the global age. I recognise more and more characteristics of the London School of Economics. CBS develops both social, environmental and philosophical dimensions of modern business management. The School has turned out to be both unique and original. That is a development I would like to be a part of,” says Mr Nyrup Rasmussen on the occasion of his appointment.
Mr Nyrup Rasmussen’s inauguration was the subject of much media attention.
In the next couple of months, CBS will appoint a number of new adjunct professors:
  • 13 May - Lykke Friis, Head of European Policy, Confederation of Danish Industries (Dansk Industri)
  • 31 May - Christian Nissen, CEO.
  • 3 June - Bjørn Lomborg, Associate Professor, University of Aarhus
Check the events calendar for details about inaugurations.
