The undergraduate international business opportunity of a lifetime
“Being an international business student, I believe the only way to be successful in future jobs is to explore the business world globally. When I heard of GLOBE, I immediately knew I had to apply and, luckily, I was one of the 15 selected for the first batch of students travelling to and staying in Copenhagen, Hong Kong and North Carolina. GLOBE started out with faceless Skype conversations, but grew into good times and friendships in Copenhagen, when the American and Chinese students arrived. It all ended in December 2007 with a solid bond between the 44 students and memories of a truly unique year that will hopefully last for a lifetime. I appreciate all the knowledge I have gained by travelling to these fascinating places and meeting these incredible people – knowledge I believe not even the top best professors at Copenhagen Business School could teach.”
Nina Juul Andersen, GLOBE Student 2007, Copenhagen Business School ‘08
"It is not an exaggeration to say that GLOBE has been the defining experience of my college career. The business knowledge and networks I have gained have already helped me to start a company with my Danish friend, importing Hong Kong products. More so than the professional aspects, however, what I will remember about GLOBE are the unique experiences and the friendships made though many hours of studying, socialising, and partying together."
Benjamin James, GLOBE Student 2007, UNC Chapel Hill ‘08
"GLOBE is the undergraduate international business opportunity of a lifetime. It pushes the limits of, what you can do both in the classroom and in the world itself. Your knowledge, comfort zones, and perceptions are stretched to the brink during the year you spend studying abroad. For me, it took a lot to get used to a new way of not only living but being. At times it felt crazy, but through the whole experience you come away with a vast base of international knowledge and experience to apply to your business education. You might just discover a little more about yourself along the way. Do not be surprised if, when it is all over, you are slightly different from the person you were when you started - a person with friends all over the world (seriously) and the savvy to plan week-long intercontinental adventures from your laptop computer (just comes with the territory). I am deeply looking forward to keeping alive the friendships that I have developed through GLOBE for the rest of my life."
James Boyd, GLOBE Student 2007, UNC Chapel Hill ‘08
"Exposing all participants to intercultural challenges and international learning experiences, the GLOBE programme constitutes an incredible adventure. From the 42nd floor Jazz-Club at Park Hyatt in Tokyo, to shag-dancing and barbecuing at the Bobbits in Raleigh. From talking about networking to having a personal network spanning three continents and dozens of countries. From long drinks to short calls. GLOBE was an extraordinary learning experience for everyone involved."
