GLOBE study trips

GLOBE students have been globetrotting all through their semester at CBS

The GLOBE programme measures up to its name and really does open the world for students from the three universities – Copenhagen Business School, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of North Carolina.
Since their arrival at CBS, GLOBE students from all three schools have participated in two study trips. The purpose of these study trips is ostensibly to expose students to different working cultures in the different regions of the world that they are from. This year, the GLOBE cohort visited Brussels and Strasbourg as well as Berlin.
Ashley Colette Groves, a GLOBE student from UNC, shared her thoughts on the study trip to Brussels and Strasbourg. “The study trips really showed us, how individual companies were dealing with integration policies. Visiting companies let us see, what we read in the book in real life. I really liked Brussels, because it was a truly international city and the heart of a lot of the European legislation.”
In Berlin, students visited a variety of different organisations ranging from Deutsche Bahn to Transparency International.
Nevertheless, there was more to the study trips than just company visits and learning. Michael Spjuth, a GLOBE student from Denmark agrees: “I loved them. I think we went to some great cities and there was time on our own to choose, what we wanted to do, but also time to do something joint, which really tied the group closer together.”
