A week to remember - GLOBE introduction week

CBS welcomed GLOBE students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of North Carolina to Copenhagen

The GLOBE class of 2008 officially kicked off the first leg of its trip at the end of January, as students from the University of North Carolina and the Chinese University of Hong Kong arrived in Copenhagen.
After weeks of working together online, GLOBE students from all three universities were finally able to meet.
“It was nice to see the faces behind the written papers,” says Jessica Tou, a GLOBE student from the University of North Carolina.
Cultural adjustments
GLOBE students participated in an intense introduction week organised by CBS, before officially starting classes. On their very first day at CBS, they attended a cultural orientation seminar at CBS to prepare themselves for the challenges of adjusting to life in a different culture. Students also gained a preview of, what student life at Copenhagen Business School would be like at the academic introduction session to GLOBE held by Professor Martin Iversen from CBS.
It was not all work though, as students socialised with each other and participated in a team-building, city-wide Scavenger Hunt - becoming more acquainted with the greater sights of Copenhagen.
The week ended with the GLOBE project presentations, where the virtual project teams presented their projects in front of a jury consisting of faculty from the three schools.
Small differences
“It was a rush. We had to work under stress, but overall it was a good opportunity,” says Catherine Sin, a GLOBE student from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. “It was also really interesting to notice even small difference - such as the way we dealt with presentation attire.”
The GLOBE inaugural dinner followed the presentation, and one group was awarded the prize for the best presentation. Students were able to meet and interact with faculty and administrators from all three schools. GLOBE students were finally able to relax and celebrate the beginning of their long journey together.
