Engaged Applied Global Education
An unique and special track of the BSc International Business degree
The BSc IB (EngAGE) programme represents a radical new approach to undergraduate education. This new degree will equip students to enter the workforce after three years of university education having studied and engaged with organization practice and critical thinking skills.
The creation of this degree program is a response to a barrier within the Danish labor market: That Danish students are encouraged to earn a Masters degree (five year degree) before entering the professional labor market. Therefore, the primary goal of this program is to enable BSc IB graduates to qualify for full-time quality positions within a management track after three years of university.
Aim of the course
The primary focus of the BSc IB (EngAGE) degree is the integration of academic teaching with organizational practice; experiential learning, action learning and engaged scholarship are hallmarks of this unique bachelor program. Therefore, all academic courses will collaborate with corporate and academic partners to provide students with opportunities to engage with organizational members, analyze organizational situations and problems and develop appropriate as well as innovative responses.
The BSc IB (EngAGE) degree builds on a fundamental business university curriculum resulting in core competencies within basic business and organizational knowledge, critical thinking, problem solving and analytic skills, creativity and innovation, communication skills, interpersonal/small group skills, cross-cultural experience and leadership.
This new degree includes several innovative learning strategies. These includes:
• Unique integrated courses with other universities.
• Courses developed in close relation with our company partners to encourage the application of academic content.
• Company sponsorship will enable study trips, exchanges, supporting technology (on line classes, teleconferencing technology, software platforms, etc.), lectures from high-profile scholars from abroad, broadcasted lectures and various interactive activities.
• New grading formats and strategies will be implemented in order to integrate exams and projects into the students’ entire learning process.
