Learning objectives
The Bachelor of Science in International Business will familiarise students with international business and economics principles, so they can solve the complex problems they will meet as employees in international or multinational companies.
The programme covers various aspects - from theory to strategy - through the use of the scientific disciplines within a variety of different research areas. Along the way, students will learn about the basic elements and functions within international business companies, and the dynamic relationship between external and internal elements.
Throughout the programme, students will expand their experience by applying a variety of strategic principles in the analysis and discussion of a number of theories, models and specific case studies.
At the end of the programme, students will be able to:
- identify key theories, models and concepts to analyse complex international business and economic situations
- connect the theoretical models to a practical setting
- produce data to answer properly posed questions
- present a proper, academic style in writing and in oral/speech, including logical structure, linguistic fluency, and appropriate vocabulary.
Teaching style
Theories and models will be presented during lectures, combined with group discussions, small group-work and class discussions. Concepts will be illustrated with case studies. We emphasise dialogue rather than a one-way communication between instructor and student, so the students must be prepared to answer questions in class and participate in discussions.
