Introduction Programme and the beginning of semester
CBS invites all new students to take part in an Introduction Programme, which takes place in August. This is where you meet your new classmates for the first time and get introduced to life on campus. In other words, it is an important part of the beginning of semester.
You'll be guided through the Introduction Programme by experienced and committed students – your intro guides – who have prepared introductory activities that match your degree programme.

It is a good idea to arrive in Copenhagen a couple of days before the Introduction Programme begins. You may find yourself in new, different surroundings, and it is important that you are able to focus on – and enjoy – all the new impressions. You may find a lot of useful information in the Copenhagen Survival Guide
, which The International Office
publishes every year. The survival guide is included in the information package sent by post to all incoming exchange students.
Academic and social introduction
The beginning of semester is associated with both the very new and with many traditions. These include the Introduction Programme, traditionally organised by a group of students. It applies to learning and studying – a way of life with its own rules and routines to be learned by each new class of students.

It is not mandatory to participate in the Introduction Programme, but we highly recommend that all new students accept the offer to receive a broad practical, academic and social introduction to the degree programme. Experience tells us that the activities in the Introduction Programme indeed help new students get off to an easier start.
Responsibility Day
The CBS management welcomes the new students to their new life with a day of discussing accountability, ethics and sustainability in relation to student life and business. The day is built around case-based discussions and includes various interactive features such as ethics competitions and voting by text messages.

First in line
The Programme Secretariat has set aside extra time to deal with the practical issues arising in connection with the beginning of semester. This means that we prioritise servicing new students and ensuring that you’ll get the help and information you need – as soon as possible. This service will cover the first month of the new academic year as this is when a quick response is most urgent.

Mentoring during the first year at CBS
All students will be assigned a mentor, i.e. an experienced student to help with academic issues or study technique. The mentors offer both presentations at class level and individual interviews. You will meet your mentor for the first time during the Introduction Programme.

What's happening in intro week?
The intro programme for the International Business class is a good mix of various social activities and introductions to different parts of CBS and the IB programme in general. The idea of the intro week is that the new students have a chance to meet their new classmates before school starts and at the same time get an introduction to all of the different things important to know when studying International Business at CBS
