BSc in International Business

The International Business programme has several courses in basic business education. The three main course categories are: methods, economics, and managerial economics. While this categorisation is also true of most of CBS’ programmes, there are several aspects, which are different from the other bachelor programmes.
Clearly, our focus is on International Business, i.e. on doing business abroad. This focus is exemplified by the fact that the IB programme starts and finishes with two fundamental courses, namely: International Business Environment and International Business Strategy. While the first describes the variety of the issues that an international business faces, the latter analyses the strategic choices to be made. In between, we have courses that give a thorough grounding in several issues, from Accounting to Corporate Finance and from Corporate Communication to Global Supply Chain Management.

Several extra-curricula activities enhance the academic environment. Short modules on presentation techniques and brush-up mathematics are offered to the students on voluntary basis, with the aim of improving their all-round abilities. Meetings with the programme office, the study board and the advisory board are organised in order to improve the cohesion of the programme and the feeling that IB students are knowledged in a special way.
Finally, the IB programme emphasises the students’ participation in internships. Instead of participating in several elective courses, a student can achieve approval to work with a company for up to six months and afterwards gain credit towards the final degree. We believe that such initiatives bring our candidates closer to getting a job right after finalising their degree.
