What did IB students do this summer?

During the summer, IB students have been engaged in a wide range of activities. Some went home to visit family and friends, some worked more or less full time, while others spent their summer at a summer university, at CBS or abroad.
This year, six IB students went to Harvard University to study an intensive course for one month of the summer. The students had many reasons for doing this.
“First and foremost I wanted to get a new perspective on university life,” says Martin Scheldon Sørensen, a second year IB student. “Studying at CBS is great, but I think it’s important to experience a different kind of study environment also. And certainly, I thought studying at Harvard was going to be an experience of a lifetime, which proved to be correct.
Rasmus Høgh, also a second year IB student, adds another reason for going to summer school. “I wanted the opportunity to study something a little bit different than we are studying on the IB programme. While I enjoy studying International Business, I also have a great interest in political science and attending Harvard Summer School gave me the option of studying this,” adds Rasmus Hogh.
There are plenty of scholarship opportunities for students if you are thorough in researching the available scholarships and sending out applications in good time. One IB student, Kristine Simonsen, managed to finance most of the tuition fee and living expenses associated with the summer school.
“It’s important to start preparing early - I started preparing last December, looking up scholarships on websites such as www.legatnet.dk or www.e-campus.dk and in the book “Legathåndbogen” (red: Danish book about scholarships).”
