BSc in Business, Asian Language and Culture - Asian Studies Programme

The Asian Studies Programme (ASP) deals with key concerns of international business, such as strategic management, marketing, economics and language studies as well as cultural and societal analyses. The courses are interdisciplinary, integrated and focused on the overall theme of understanding business dynamics in, and across Asian economies along with strong analytical skills and language abilities in either Chinese or Japanese.
Studying ASP
The study environment at ASP is highly international. It is a small programme characterised by active and dedicated students. Since neither Chinese nor Japanese are easily acquired languages, successful ASP students spend 40 hours a week studying, including classroom work, lectures, teamwork and independent studies.
Students are offered a unique opportunity to experience Asia first hand through extensive exchange programmes with universities in China and Japan.
Qualifications
Upon graduation you will be able to conduct comparative analyses of international businesses or organisations and their activities in a dynamic global environment, specify internal and external organisational communication tasks that enhance organisational success, formulate goals for Asian related companies and organisations based upon qualitative/quantitative analyses, and manage teamwork in groups for the successful implementation of the stated goals.
