Alternative Fulfilment of Language Requirements
Below you will find the alternative documentation CBS accepts, if you need to prove the sufficient level of English, Chinese, German, French, Japanese or Spanish to fulfil language requirements for a bachelor programme at CBS.
English at Level A: English at Danish level A is required for all programmes in English and some programmes in Danish.
For English A equivalency within EU/EEA, please see:

The following English tests/exams are accepted instead of English level A:
- TOEFL paper-based test result of at least 600
- TOEFL iBT test result of at least 100
- IELTS (academic) test result of at least 7.0
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English passed
- A complete bachelor degree done in English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK or the US
- A complete upper secondary education done in English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK or the US
English at Level B: English at Danish level B is required for some programmes in Danish.

The following English tests/exams are accepted instead of English level B:
- TOEFL paper-based test result of at least 570
- TOEFL iBT test result of at least 90
- IELTS (academic) test result of at least 6.5
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English passed
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English passed
- A complete bachelor degree done in English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK or the US.
- A complete upper secondary education done in English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK or the US.
General Information on English Tests:
TOEFL – Test of English as Foreign Language: You can either take this test as an institutional test at CBS (only CBS can use your score) or as the ordinary international test. For information on the CBS institutional test see: at the Language Center. If you take the international test, please ask for the result to be sent to CBS, School Code: 7035. NB: CBS does not accept copies of test results. Please see:

IELTS – International English Language Testing System: IELTS is organised by British Council all over the world. CBS only accepts IELTS acadmic test results. CBS accepts both original test results sent directly from British Council and copies (copies will be checked with British Council). See:

Chinese at Beginner's Level A (begyndersprog A): For language equivalency within EU/EEA, please:

The following tests/exams are accepted instead of Chinese Beginner's Level A:
- Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi - "HSK Basic" passed with a grade A
- Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi - "HSK Elementary-Intermediate" passed with a grade C or higher
- Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi - "HSK Advanced" passed with a grade C or higher

Also, a full upper secondary education done in Chinese in a Chinese-speaking country is sufficient to meet the minimum requirements in Chinese.
French at Beginner's Level A/Intermediate Level B (begyndersprog A/fortsættersprog B): For language equivalency within EU/EEA, please see:

The following tests/exams are accepted instead of French Beginner's Level A/Intermediate Level B:
- DELF B2 - Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française B2 - passed
- DALF C1 - Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française C1 - passed
- DALF C2 - Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française C2 - passed
Also, a full upper secondary education done in French in a French-speaking country is sufficient to meet the minimum requirements in French.
German at Beginner's Level A/Intermediate Level B (begyndersprog A/fortsættersprog B): For language equivalency within EU/EEA, please see:

The following tests/exams are accepted instead of German Beginner's Level A/Intermediate Level B:
- Goethe-Zertificat B2 - passed
- Goethe-Zertificat C1 - passed
- Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung - passed
- Kleines Deutschen Sprachdiplom - passed
Also, a full upper secondary education done in German in a German-speaking country is sufficient to meet the minimum requirements in German.

The following tests/exams are accepted instead of Japanese at Beginner's Level A:
- Japanese Language Proficiency Test (Nihongo noryoku shiken) - level 3 (sankyuu) - passed
- Japanese Language Proficiency Test (Nihongo noryoku shiken) - level 2 (nikkyuu) - passed
- Japanese Language Proficiency Test (Nihongo noryoku shiken) - level 1 (ikkyuu) - passed
The Japanese Language Proficiency Test is maintained by the Japan Foundation and held worldwide, including CBS. For further information, please see: .
Also, a full upper secondary education done in Japan is sufficient to meet the minimum requirements in Japanese.
As the Japanese Language Proficiency Test only takes place once a year in December, applicants with documented Japanese language experience may be invited to do a language interview to determine their level of Japanese.

- Diploma de Español Nivel Intermedio - passed
- Diploma de Español Nivel Superior - passed
