Registration procedure for CBS students
All CBS electives are being administered through the electives secretariat. This means that you can get an overview of all CBS electives by looking in just one place.
Electives offered in the spring 2012
Here you can see the electives that CBS offers in the spring 2012:
Before you registerBefore signing up for electives you should check whether or not the courses you want to do are approved by your study programme. If the courses are offered by your own programme, you can always sign up for them. If they are offered by another study programme you should check the positive-negative list of electives from your own study. Positive-negative-lists are posted under "Electives” on the
site of your study programme
on e-campus. If you cannot find the list, please contact your own study secretariat for further information.
Course overlap
It is your own responsibility to make sure the teachings of your courses do not overlap. In case of an overlap, you must decide if you want to do both courses anyway. It is important that you make sure your written exams are not scheduled for the same time. As to oral exams, CBS aims to ensure that your exams do not overlap. You should inform the department, if your oral exams overlap.
Registration and enrolment The exact deadlines for registration can be found on e-campus under ‘
Electives
’. The registration period for the autumn semester will typically be in the beginning of May and for the spring semester it will be in the beginning of November. If you missed the first round of application or did not get into the amount of courses you need, you can apply for vacant places during the
second round
.
In the self service system you can change your registrations until the registration deadline. Afterwards you will still be able to see the electives you have registered for, but you have not been enrolled in any electives, before they appear under your enrolment status on e-campus.
After the first round of registration we draw lots, if the number of registrations exceeds the number of places in an elective. If we are unable to give you your first priority, we will look at your second and third. If we cannot give you a seat in any of those, you can apply for vacant places during the second round.
Vacant Place SystemIf you want to do a course that is not approved by your study programme, you can buy a seat in the course through the
Vacant Place System
. You apply by filling out a form and not through the self service system. Please note that the elective will not be a part of your study programme; it will be a supplementary course.
