Strategy, Organisation and Leadership (SOL)
Core skills
The SOL concentration offers competences that can be used in private and public organizations. The concentration provides competences in:
- Analyzing the strategic challenges of organizations. Increasingly, this involves the ability to understand and deal with problems and situations that are ill defined, complex and ambiguous.
- Implementing and taking part in organizational change processes. This comprises skills in analyzing and responding to intra- and inter-organizational challenges of organizational design.
- Understanding leadership requirements in dynamic organizations
- Creative skills for constructing, communicating and pursuing strategic visions
- Ability to analyze the influence of complex and changing institutional and techno-economic environments on organizational actions and strategies.
In combination, these competencies enable students to analyze, strategically engage in, facilitate, and cultivate organizational change and development. These competencies are useful and applicable in a variety of managerial job types including:
- Management consultant/analyst
- Management (support, line, project)
- Research (applied or academic)
