Practice Effective Leadership
The SOL concentration provides analytical tools that enable you to understand, design and intervene in organisations and their wider network, thereby attaining skills necessary for effective leadership.
Understanding organisational development and change are key aspects of modern management and leadership, particularly in times of rapid and often random changes in an organisation’s environment. However, successful management and leadership call for more than merely understanding the conditions under which an organisation operates. It calls for acting creatively to enhance organisational performance as well as the performance of the people working in them.
Seven Domains
You will be introduced to seven domains of strategy, organisation and leadership to provide an encompassing framework for how to make sense of the real-life dyna mics and dilemmas of managing and leading organisations. The domains are combined in projects where you study and analyse organisations.
Drawing on state-of-the-art theories and tools, you learn to critically analyse their applicability and work with leading edge approaches to organisational development.
Career Opportunities
You will develop:
• skills for dealing with complex and ambiguous problems and situations
• skills for redesigning, changing and improving the strategic and organisational resources for leadership
• a basis for creatively constructing, communicating and pursuing strategic visions.
These qualifications are applicable and relevant in a host of general management jobs, consulting and research. You will have analytical and hands-on, practical insights that allow you to strategically engage in, facilitate and cultivate organisational change.
