Graduate Admission
Here you will find both information on the admission process at CBS and general information on being a student at CBS and in Denmark.
Admission Process
You may expect to be notified of your acceptance/rejection as follows:
- Group A applicants: 15 June
- Group B applicants: 15 June
- Group B applicants needing a student residence permit: 15 April at the latest
You will receive one of the following letters:
- Letter of acceptance, i.e. you are fully accepted without any conditions attached to your acceptance
- Conditional letter of acceptance. i.e. you are accepted under condition that you fulfil conditions stated in the letter by study start
- Letter of rejection, i.e. your application is rejected, because you did not: filful the entry requirements / pay the required application fee / pay the required tuition fee / send the necessary documentation.
All conditionally accepted students must send the required documentation by study start - the consequence of not sending the required documentation is severe, as the acceptance will be cancelled.Read more at

Please note that questions on programme specific matters should be directed to the programme secretariat in question (see below), as the Admissions Office only deals with admissions questions.

. Here you will also find information on student life at CBS, including lectures, sport, student organisations, parties, student jobs and a whole lot more.
Accomodation: If you are looking for accomodation, there are several places to go:
- Go to our International Office (if you are a non-Danish student) and apply for accomodation: Accommodation
- Check www.findbolig.nu
- a free web site where you can apply for accommodation
- Check newspapers, bulletin boards at CBS, etc. for posters on housing
Books: You will get lists of which books to buy from your teachers at the first class. Some programmes have book lists available on SiteScape or e-campus before the start of the semester. The Admissions Office, the Student Guidance Service and the Study Secretariats do not have information on books.
Campus: Please see cbs.dk/campus for information on the CBS campus (including maps) and public transportation.
E-mail: You will receive information on your CBS email account directly from your Study Secretariat in August. The login and pin code to your email account also serve as login and pin code to SiteScape which is the online teaching platform used at CBS.
Intro & Start of the Semester: Information on the start of the semester and introduction programme is available on each programme's/concentration's website, under Introduction & Start of Semester.
IT: CBS has IT facilities for students; however, it may be a good idea to bring your own laptop to ensure access to IT facilities at all times. CBS has wireless internet access at all campuses.
Library: Please see cbs.dk/library for information on the CBS Libraries.
Residence Permit: If you are new to Denmark you must obtain a residence permit.
Semesters & Hollidays: CBS operates with two semesters: The autumn semester runs from September to January and the spring semester from February to June. The exact dates of the holidays vary from programme to programme; these will normally be listed at e-campus or SiteScape. Please note that it is normal to use week numbers when stating periods of time.
Social Security Number: If you are new to Denmark you must obtain a Danish social security number, called a CPR number – the number is used when dealing with public authorities, health authorities, libraries, banks, etc. You should contact the municipality (kommune) for the area where you are living to get further information. For most students this will be either “Københavns Kommune” or “Frederiksberg Kommune”.
Student ID Card: Your student ID card will be issued to you after arriving at CBS; the card also serves as library card for the libraries at CBS.
