Management of Innovation and Business Development

Innovation has become the key to competitive advantage of firms. To become successful, innovations must be leveraged through the broader effort of
business development. Without the competences required to combine these challenges, commercialisation of innovation mostly fails. The MIB concentration prepares you to meet these challenges.

You learn to critically analyse the dynamics of innovation and business environment and the scope for strategic response. You learn to analyse and manage innovation and commercialisation activities in knowledge-intensive companies, and are trained in identifying and overcoming impediments to change based on analysis, teamwork, and communication skills.
Working on case-based exercises and projects helps you build competences that combine a broad management perspective on innovation, business development and entrepreneurship. You will develop in-depth skills in innovation management, entrepreneurship, project management, strategy and market development, and management control and finance.
Career Opportunities
You will be qualified for positions in a broad range of business functions in knowledge-intensive companies, e.g. as management consultant, controller and business developer, in jobs relating to project and product management and organisational development or as entrepreneur and manager of innovative start-ups.
 
Get a Double Degree
CBS and Università Bocconi, Milan, Italy have signed a Double Degree agreement for the MIB concentration. This means that if you choose the MIB concentration, you will have the possibility of studying at Bocconi for one year after having completed your first year of studies at CBS.

MIB provides an active learning environment with interactive lectures, casebased exercises, interaction with managers from business practice, team building and project work. It aligns theory with practical problem solving in innovative firms.
