Further information on selection criteria

The programme MSc in Economics & Business Administration (MSc EBA / cand.merc.) has a limited number of places, both at the programme as a whole and at individual concentrations.
SELECTION CRITERIA AT THE PROGRAMME:
The MSc EBA has 1400 places in 2012. If there are more qualified applicants than places available, the following selection criteria will be applied:
Quota 1: applicants with a legal claim to be accepted
There are 800 places available in Quota 1. If there are more qualified applicants than places in Quota 1, the quota will be extended with the necessary amount of places. If there are fewer qualified Quota 1 applicants than there are places, the remaining places will be transferred to Quota 4 and Quota 5. Applicants with a legal claim to be accepted (see below for an explanation) have the right to be accepted at MSc EBA/cand.merc. (but not at a specific concentration) and therefore they do not undergo a selection process for admission at MSc EBA/cand.merc. – however, in order to be ensured admission, applicants must choose a minimum of three MSc EBA/cand.merc. concentrations when they apply.
Applicants with a legal claim to be accepted:
You have legal claim to be accepted at MSc EBA/cand.merc. (but NOT at a specific concentration), if:
a) you have/will obtain a direct qualifying bachelor degree (see Direct Qualifying ), AND
b) your bachelor degree is from CBS, AND
c) you apply for the MSc EBA/cand.merc. the same year as you finish your bachelor degree.
Quota 2: exemptees
The amount of places offered in Quota 2 has not yet been determined.If there are more qualified applicants in Quota 2 than there are available places, applicants will be subject to an individual assessment. Please see Group A Dispensees (for applicants with a Danish educational background) and Group B Exemptees (for applicants without a Danish educational background).
If there are fewer qualified Quota 2 applicants than there are places, the remaining places will be transferred to Quota 4 and Quota 5.
Quota 3: applicants with a Danish HD diploma
The amount of places offered in Quota 3 has not yet been determined.If there are more qualified applicants in Quota 3 than there are places, applicants will be selected primarily according to their GPA from HD part II or an overall assessment of their educational background in case the HD has not yet been passed at the time of assessment.
If there are fewer qualified applicants in Quota 3 than there are places, the remaining places will be transferred to Quota 4 and Quota 5.
Quota 4: all applicants who do not belong in Quota 1, Quota 2 or Quota 3, and who, at the time when they apply, already have a final GPA for their undergraduate degree, calculated on the Danish 7-point grading scale.
The number of places offered in Quota 4 and Quota 5 is determined by the number of places that remain available after Quotas 1, 2 and 3 have been filled; the places are distributed proportionally between Quota 4 and Quota 5, according to the percentage of qualified applicants in each of the two quotas.
If there are more qualified applicants in Quota 4 than there are places, applicants will be selected according to their GPA.
Quota 5: all applicants who do not belong in Quota 1, Quota 2 or Quota 3, and who, at the time when they apply, DO NOT have a final GPA for their undergraduate degree, calculated on the Danish 7-point grading scale.
The number of places offered in Quota 4 and Quota 5 is determined by the number of places that remain available after Quotas 1, 2 and 3 have been filled; the places are distributed proportionally between Quota 4 and Quota 5, according to the percentage of qualified applicants in each of the two quotas.
If there are more qualified applicants in Quota 5 than there are places, applicants will undergo an objective selection process with focus on their undergraduate degree as well as their qualifications within the field of business administration.
