Entry Requirements

MSc in Advanced Economics and Finance (cand.oecon.)

You are considered for admission to the elite programme MSc in Advanced Economics & Finance (cand.oecon.), if you:
A) fulfil the general entry requirement, and
B) fulfil the language requirement, and
C) fulfil the specific entry requirements.
Please note that this programme is an elite programme and has a limited number of places, please see Selection criteria.
A) The general entry requirements is an academic bachelor degree within the social sciences; applicants, who do not hold an academic bachelor degree within the social sciences, will be individually assessed. For further information, please see Bachelor degree.
B) The language requirement is English at level A. For further information, please see English.
C) The specific entry requirements are:
60 ECTS-points within economics and/or finance
(e.g. economic theory, micro economics, macro economics, international economics, monetary economics, finance, investment analysis, and the like)
30 ECTS-points within quantitative methods
(e.g. statistics, mathematics, econometrics, and the like)

The following Danish bachelor degrees automtically fulfil the specific entry requirements (but are not ensured admission):
  • BA polit. at Copenhagen University
  • BA oecon. at Aarhus University
  • HA(mat.) at Copenhagen Business School
  • BA scient.oecon. at Copenhagen University, Ã…rhus University, University of Southern Denmark, Aalborg University
A HA degree from CBS does not automatically fulfil the specific entry requirements, but are required to do min. 15 ECTS-points in Economics and/or Finance and 20 ECTS-points in Quantitative Methods to fulfil the specific entry requirements (electives and bachelor project may fulfil parts of this requirement).
