MSc in Business, Language and Culture - Business and Development Studies (BADS)

BADS explores in great depth the interface between business economics and development studies. It analyses the particular conditions of formulating, implementing and managing strategy in developing countries and emerging markets and assesses the role that companies and organisations play in economic development processes.
More specifically, BADS offers:
  • An introduction to the vast and highly dynamic business and development debate and literature
  • Tools to analyse the complex interaction between international business and economic development
  • Teaching of the cross-cultural and strategic challenges of working in developing countries and emerging markets
  • Discussion of the ethical challenges and dilemmas in connection with international trade and investment
  • Opportunities for exposure to developing countries through student exchange and internships.
The faculty of the concentration has a long-standing experience with practical and academic work in and with developing countries, and in this way students are provided with updated insights into current debates and research on business and development. The faculty is member of the CBS Centre for Business and Development Studies.
