Applied Economics and Finance
This concentration provides you with a solid understanding of economics and finance, with a particular emphasis on real-world applications. Hence
the aim is not only to give you theoretical insights, but also to provide you with tools that are useful in a contemporary realworld business context.
The focus is on economic incentives and organisation governing the firm and its market and non-market behaviour. This knowledge helps a firm understand the economic environment in which it is embedded. Taking the firm as its starting point, you are provided with a strong analytical background in the core areas of corporate and international finance, firms in a global environment, corporate governance and industrial economics. You learn to understand and forecast financial and economic variables important for modern companies, as well as to apply theoretical models in
finance, firm theory and industrial economics to solve practical problems and to communicate your insights and results clearly.
Career Opportunities
The AEF concentration makes you a qualified analyst, but you also obtain insights into the fundamentals of firms and markets.
