With over twenty nations the American continents constitute one of the great global powers. American Studies provide students with an in-depth insight into the two political systems in America - commerce and cultural aspects. More specifically, students examine USA as a superpower and cultural exporter, as well as Latin America as a future market for Danish commerce. The specialisation provides students with an overall knowledge on the American continents as a single entity, but it also focuses on the nations’ diversity and their interrelations.
As the specialisation is built on three main areas - politics, commerce and cultural studies, students work on interdisciplinary projects, e.g. they analyse and solve cases for companies, businesses or social assistance groups. How are these affected by political, commercial or cultural conditions?
