Who is to pay an application fee?
You are to pay an application fee if you:
  1. are NOT a citizen of an EU/EEA country, and
  2. do NOT have a Danish bachelor degree.
Who is not to pay an application fee?
IF you have a Danish degree, you are NOT to pay an application fee, regardless of your nationality. This means that if you apply for a master's programme and have obtained/will obtain a bachelor degree issued by a Danish university, you are not to pay an application fee.
IF you are a Danish citizen or citizen of an EU-country or Norway or Iceland or Switzerland or Liechtenstein, you are NOT to pay an application fee, regardless of your educational background.
IF you have one of the following residence permits, you have the same rights as a Danish citizen and are therefore NOT to pay the application fee:
  • "Permanent opholdstilladelse" - permanent residence permit in Denmark
  • "Opholdstilladelse med mulighed for varigt ophold" - residence permit with a view to permanent residence in Denmark
  • "Opholdtilladelse jævnfør EF/EØS-bekendtgørelsen" - residence permit in Denmark according to the EU/EEA regulations
  • Permanent residence in another Nordic country (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands).
How do I pay?
The application fee is 150 EURO (or 1125 DKK) per applicant per application year. The application(s) will not be handled, until the Admissions Office has been able to confirm the payment. The following payment deadlines apply:
  • Scholarship applicants must pay the application fee no later than 1 February
  • Group B applicants must pay the application fee no later than 1 March

Please note that you are NOT to pay the application fee in cash at Danske Bank. As information detail, please remember to write your full name when transferring the fee to CBS.The transfer may take a couple of days, but as long as the application fee has been paid by you by the deadline, this is not a problem.
Will the application fee be reimbursed?
If you are accepted to and start at one of the programmes applied for (i.e. you fulfil all entry requirements and are registered as an active student by 1 October), the application fee will be reimbursed to you between 1 October and 31 December. The application fee will not be reimbursed under any other circumstances.
As the application fee is automatically reimbursed to the account from which it was paid, please do NOT close your account after applying/moving to Denmark.
