Graduate Admission Entry Requirements

It is a language requirement at the Msc in Business, Language and Culture to have a second foreign language, besides English. The programme offers teaching in Chinese, French, German, Japanese or Spanish as second foreign language.
When applying, you must demonstrate language skills at a high level in the chosen language - this means that you must have:
  • 325 hours of teaching during primary/secondary school, as well as
  • 15 ECTS-points of teaching at undergraduate level in the chosen language.
The teaching at undergraduate level must include studies of cultural, economic and political aspects of the language area. It is a requirement that you can speak the language fluently with a varied use of words and that you are able able to read and understand texts written in the language in question.
Alternative Fulfilment
If you do not fulfil the language requirement as stated above, there are the following ways of fulfilling it:
If the language in question is your mother tongue, this may also fulfil the language requirement. Normally, this means that you should have grown up in the language area in question and have received the main part of your education there; this must be well-documented.
You may also do a language test: tests may be taken all over the world, but at at different dates and intervals. You may apply even if the test has not yet been passed; nevertheless, the test must be passed at the required level before starting studies. As the Japanese Language Proficiency Test only takes place once a year in December, it is possible to hold a language interview instead - please contact the Admissions Office for further information.
