Appraisal

Graduate Admission Assessment

Prior to formal application to a graduate programme at CBS, you may have your academic background pre-assessed by the Admissions Office in order to determine whether or not you fulfil the entry requirements for the programme in question. This is a service offered to potential applicants, who are unsure whether the entry requirements are fulfiled or not - in other words, an appraisal is not in any way obligatory for you to have in order to apply for admission, but it may be a good idea, if you want to make sure that you fulfil the entry requirements. Please note that fulfilling the entry requirements does not ensure admission.
When:
The deadline for requesting an appraisal for the 2012 admission year was 15 November 2011 at 12:00 noon. We are no longer accepting requests for appraisals. If you have already requested an appraisal, it will normally be handled within two months.
What we need:
If you wish to have your academic background appraised, it is important that you upload the following documentation:
  • If you are currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree: an updated grade transcript and a list of the courses that you need to pass in order to obtain your degree
  • If you have already completed an undergraduate degree: a full grade transcript and your bachelor diploma
  • The grading system
  • ECTS or other credits for each course
  • The total number of credits required by your university to pass the degree and the length of the programme in years
  • A list of the courses you plan on doing in addition to those included in your undergraduate degree (if applicable)
  • Course descriptions for courses where the course content is not obvious (e.g. courses such as "Project", "Economics" or "Business Administration")
  • A self-assessment where you list the courses you think fulfil the specific entry requirements for the programme in question
How:
You are to register as a new user in Admission Flow - the CBS electronic graduate admission system - at www.cbs.dk/admissionflow , then fill out the flow and upload documentation as prompted by the system.
You will NOT be able to submit your request for appraisal. Instead, you are to print out the "Review" PDF file generated by the system and send/hand it in at:
CBS Admissions Office; Dalgas Have 15; DK-2000 Frederiksberg
You may also send the "Review" file by email to graduateadmission@cbs.dk with Appraisal Request in the subject field. Please note that this is not a secure connection, and your CPR number (if you have one) should not be included. Also, the "Review" file is the only file to be included, as we do NOT accept any documentation on email.
If sent by ordinary mail, the letter must be post stamped 14 November at the latest; if handed in personally or sent by email, the deadline is 15 November, 12 noon.
You will receive an e-mail notification when CBS Admissions Office submits your appraisal request for processing.
You will receive an e-mail notification when an answer is available for you in Admission Flow.
*It is only possible to have an appraisal for one programme.
*It is not possible to have an appraisal if your degree is  Direct Qualifying.
*It is not possible to have an appraisal if a standard assessment of you programme has been made (see under Entry requirements at the programme in question).
What you get:
CBS Admissions Office will assess your educational background in comparison to the entry requirements for the programme you wish to study. If you do not fulfil the entry requirements, the Admissions Office will indicate the areas that you are deficient in and how many ECTS-points you need in these areas to meet the entry requirements.
You may do supplementary courses in order to fulfil the entry requirements at any university you choose, as long as the courses are done at academic undergraduate level and fulfil the requirements listed in the letter you have received - if you are unsure if a certain course is considered to be within the required area, you may contact the Admissions Office. Please see Supplementary courses for information on doing supplementary courses at CBS.
Your appraisal is valid for two consecutive years of admission.
