Accreditations

Accreditation

CBS participates both in international and in national accreditations.
The main purposes of the international accreditations are
  1. international branding and
  2. learning international best practice on quality in education, research and administration.
Since 2000 CBS has been accredited by EQUIS, and since 2007 also by AMBA. August 1st 2011 CBS received accreditation by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) as the first school in Scandinavia. CBS has thus acquired 'The Triple Crown', an acknowledgement only shared by around 50 business schools worldwide. These schools all belong the the absolute top business schools and include schools such as INSEAD, London Business School, IMD, and Rotterdam School of Management.

3 accreditations - different focus

The three different accreditation labels are perceived necessary due to their different recognition in different parts of the world, and because they – in spite of many similarities – have their focus on different element.
EQUIS has strong focus on research, internationalization and partnership with the business community, while AACSB focuses on strongly on governance, faculty qualifications, learning and education. AMBA focuses solely on MBA/MPA programmes.

The Danish accreditation system was established by law in 2007. This means that all CBS programmes must pass a national accreditation over the next years. This work is administered by ACE Denmark.
More information on the different accreditations can be found under the respective links that also include updated information on accredited institutions
