Research and publications focus on analyses of public sector policy, new steering technologies and their constitutive effects on management and leadership in public welfare organisations. Other areas are labour market relations and pay determination in public sector, organized interests and politics, and post graduate teaching and learning. Research approach is various institutional and discourse theories aiming to understand new political formations and historical-institutional contexts as well as practices of public sector management and governance. Current projects are on reform, steering, organising and managing in educational organisations.
