Participant Profile

The students taking the MPA are already leaders - most with careers in the public sector. The subjects in the MPA and the degree’s focus is such that the course attracts many students from volunteer and technical organisations as well as from private companies that work with state and local authorities. This broad profile is one of the MPA degree’s strengths and something that we want to sustain by recruiting broadly.
Work Background
About half of the MPA students are from local government, including the health sector. The other main group comes from the state, from volunteer and technical organisations and the education sector. The MPA also includes smaller groups of leaders from the private sector who have a special connection to the public sector.

Personal Profile
The students at the MPA are people who have chosen to study in the middle of their careers. Your fellow students are therefore mature and experienced people with a good deal of work and management experience (heads of administration, office heads, project managers, department heads, principals, directors etc.). The MPA classes are typically evenly made up of men and women, with a spread in ages from 30 to 55.

Educational Background
We put every MPA class together so that many different educational backgrounds are represented. The participants come with degrees in architecture, engineering, law, finance, political science, library science, medicine and nursing, and more.
