Objectives of Learning

The demand for advanced education within professional fields of study has been growing in the recent years. This demand has urged a shift towards industry-driven programs where senior and mid-career managers seek higher competencies.
The Blue MBA is an industry-driven Executive MBA awarded upon the completion of the 22-month, part-time, studies beyond the bachelor level degree. It lives up to the Danish framework of the MBA level education and ensures the heightened expertise in the academic discipline of the MBA and the professional field of shipping and logistics which the participants gain through intensive course work, lectures, assignments/ examinations, projects and their final thesis.
Four governing themes are evident through-out the program: leadership challenges, globalization of the world economy, implications of information and communication technology development and changes in logistics requirements. The final integrating strategy project serves two purposes: for the candidate, the aim is to integrate all topics covered in the program by using real world data on a problem related to the candidate’s own company. For the candidate’s company, the aim is to have a strategic issue thoroughly analyzed, with proposed solutions and implementation plans. The last six months of the study is devoted to this project.
The Program consists of eight modules, each of which is followed by an individual assignment, plus a final integrating strategy project; which constitute the final master thesis.
