Dates

The International Summer University Program is a six-week intensive program that takes place from 23 June until 3 August 2012. All international students have to arrive in Copenhagen in time to participate in the orientation held on 23 June 2012.

Admission requirements

We welcome students from around the world to study undergraduate or graduate courses at the International Summer University Program. To be admitted to ISUP, students must be in good academic standing and have a minimum of two years of university studies at bachelor’s level to take an undergraduate course, and a minimum of one year of university studies at master’s level to take a graduate course. In addition, all students must have strong English skills and fulfill the prerequisites for the courses they wish to attend.

Course Selection

How do I select a course?
All courses in ISUP can be found under Courses (the catalogue for 2012 is not ready yet. Please check our web-site for further updates in December 2011). It is important that you read the course descriptions very carefully and make sure that you fulfill the prerequisites for the courses which you wish to sign up for.
Undergraduate courses are open to all students that as a minimum have finished two years of a Bachelor degree at university level. Graduate courses are open to students that as a minimum hold a bachelor degree from a higher institution of education and have finished their first year of studies at master’s level.
Please note that the final decision on whether the courses will run will depend on student enrollment numbers. We anticipate that we will be able to run by far the majority of the courses - the final course catalogue of the established courses will be available in April 2012.
When applying for ISUP you will have to choose two preferred courses as well as two alternative courses in case your first preference is fully booked or cancelled. Courses that take place at the same time obviously cannot be taken together. It is therefore important and your responsibility to check the Schedule so that there are no time conflicts between your first, second and alternative course choices.
If you are taking ISUP courses in order to fulfill the admission requirements for a Master's Program at CBS you can find a list of which areas the different courses cover here .
How many courses should I take?
All international students must take two ISUP courses, unless enrolled in a 3-week intensive graduate course. It is not possible to take two 3-week intensive courses, but you may take one 3-week intensive and one regular course.
Will all courses be taught in English?
Yes, ISUP is an international summer program and students participating are expected to have a sufficient English level. We have international as well as national faculty in our program and the language used in class must be English even though the teacher is Danish and all students have a Danish background.
How much credit will I get for participating in ISUP courses?
Each ISUP course is worth 7.5 ECTS credits and all international students are required to enroll in two courses, which is equal to 15 ECTS or half a semester's full course load at CBS. It is your responsibility to make sure that your courses are approved for credit transfer at your home university. ISUP is not able to decide how many credits a course is worth in your home university's academic program, and it is therefore up to your university to evaluate how many credits you will receive.
Can I change courses?
Under special circumstances, you may have the possibility of changing courses during the first two and a half days of ISUP (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until 12 noon). It will only be possible for you to change courses if you fulfill the course prerequisites and if the course is still open for enrollment.
What happens if I apply for a course that is fully booked?
If you apply for a course that is fully booked at the time of your application, then we will automatically substitute your first course priority with your second priority, as long as you meet the course prerequisites. This is also why it is very important that you check that there are no time conflicts between your first as well as second course priorities.
How will I be graded?
Grades for all ISUP courses will be based 100% on the final exam. You will be graded according to the Danish grading scale. Please check the following link for further information: The Danish Grading Scale . A detailed description of these grades will be sent out to all international students together with their transcript at the end of the program.
All students will be able to see their grades on e-campus . All international studentswill receive a transcript/certificate, confirming the courses taken and grades received, as long as they have paid any balances due to CBS (housing, tuition, social activities, etc.).
