Courses in Denmark
Danish is the national language of Denmark. School children begin learning foreign languages, especially English and German, at the age of 10-12. There is no problem in communicating in English, especially in Copenhagen's hotels, restaurants, and department stores.
CBS offers Danish Culture Week during which you learn some Danish at the beginning of each semester (one week) and Danish language courses during the semester. But there are many other possibilities of learning Danish in Denmark. Regular courses are offered during the year and special summer courses are available in the summer holidays.
The courses are also offered by the local municipalities in Denmark, private organizations, universities, by higher education institutions as well as folk high schools. Payment may be charged for the courses, but many courses offered by the municipalities are free of charge.
