Arrival at CBS / Buddy System
CBS has a Buddy system, which means that each of you will be assigned a CBS student as a buddy to help you through the first few weeks in your new surroundings. The buddy will also meet you at the train station or airport when you arrive and accompany you to the address where you are going to live during your stay with us. However, it will only be possible for your buddy to assist you if you inform him or her as soon as possible and preferably before July 15/December 15 when and where you will arrive, the number of your flight or train and the time of your arrival. If we do not receive any information from you about your travel arrangements, there will be no one to meet you at the train station or airport and you will have to find your lodgings yourself.
Buddies are CBS students who have volunteered to help one or more of our international students. They will often hold jobs in addition to being full-time students, so please understand that they might have to limit the number of hours they can use on being a buddy.
Arrivals later than the first day of the mandatory introduction program (August 23, 2010 or January 23, 2011) will not be approved.
Experience shows that many late arrivals run into difficulties finding sufficient social contacts and making the necessary academic adjustments.
