Prerequisite/progression of the course
Students must have an intermediate level of Chinese. Level of exchange students will be assessed by the course coordinator.
Aim of the course
During this year a special focus is on the spoken language to improve the students speaking and listening abilities, sentence construction and self-expression and to enable students to listen to and talk about more specific topics, including economy and management-related topics. Furthermore, students’ skills in reading and comprehension of Chinese texts will be deepened.
Course content, structure and teaching
Each teaching session incorporate some or all of the following tasks and is conducted in Chinese throughout: reading aloud, answering questions, practising new expressions, listening to tapes/videos, writing in Chinese, and free conversation (e.g. role playing) by actively using basic grammar, idioms and vocabularies. During class, students will present the content of texts studied in various form, such as oral and written. There is a use-oriented approach to grammar to develop the students’ skills in using grammar as a tool to “decipher” and readily understand language at a more complicated level.

Lectures, group work etc.
Examination
Biweekly assessment test and two oral exams.
