Elite module: CM-IIE Internship in International Entrepreneurship

CBS-studerende i Dalgas Have

At CBS we have been able to offer a unique opportunity to our international MBA students for anumber of years: Participation in our Internship program. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer this program in the fall 2012. As we very much hope to be able to offer this program again in the fall 2013, the below information is relevant for students interested in studying with us in the fall 2013.
The Internship in International Entrepreneurship is a unique course that merges theory with the reality of the business world through a challenging internship offered normally from September through December but, unfortunately, not in 2012.
Successful applicants start the semester with an intensive two-week period in the classroom, concluded with a 4-hour written mid-term exam. The curriculum during this two-week period exceeds what is normally delivered in a normal full semester course.
For the company internship, students are placed in small entrepreneurial high-tech ventures according to their academic and professional profile. Each student is assigned an academic supervisor from CBS, as well as a mentor in the company. The projects are defined jointly by the company and CBS in order to assure both relevance to company needs and viability as an academic graduate project. Working through milestones, each intern will produce a written project to be delivered and defended in a one hour defense just prior to Christmas at the end of the semester.
All projects are centered in entrepreneurial ventures, be they startups, small innovate companies or entrepreneurial projects within larger firms (intrapreneurship). Following is a small selection of the internship companies from Autumn 2009:

Testimonials from Past Student Participants

Ravi Srivastava

Ravi Srivastava, 2009 participant from the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad.
"The Internship in International Entrepreneurship is one of the finest courses that I have studied and one of the reasons why I chose to come to Copenhagen Business School. This course combines three very vital components that I feel are very important for learning business: strong theoretical foundation, practical application of concepts, and an entrepreneurial environment.
"Classrooms with students of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds along with faculty members from diverse fields of business enhanced the learning environment and gave me new perspectives.
"The course has given me international experience while working in a completely new environment, strong fundamentals to deal with business problems and conviction to defend my analysis. I highly recommend this unique course at the Copenhagen Business School."

"The course in International Entrepreneuship is a unique course as it not only exposes the students to theory but also provides them an opportunity to implement the theory in a real business. Thus, the students are better equipped to handle business problems and use theoretical frameworks effectively. The course is neatly designed and met all my expectations, and this course rates very high in terms of value-added for me amongst all courses I have taken during my management studies over the last two years."
