Are my English skills sufficient for studying at CBS?
You must be extremely comfortable in both English comprehension and rapid verbal English response. Classroom activity, as well as project and group work at CBS is very fast-paced and dynamic. It is for this reason that CBS requires the above-mentioned proficiency tests. If you are not able to understand and respond in English at a rapid rate, you are advised to work very hard at understanding and speaking quickly prior to arriving.
- Check your skills; Language is critical!
- Also, you should listen to speaking tapes and television programmes as well as speak with your friends and family in ENGLISH. Try to find friends of other nationalities to learn to speak and understand other accents. If you stay with friends from your own country, your language will not improve! Remember, there will be many nationalities in the classroom. You will need to understand everyone!
- Lastly, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
How many credits am I required to take at CBS?
A full workload at Copenhagen Business School is 30 ECTS credits. CBS requires that each exchange student take a full-load while studying at CBS, regardless of whether credit may be obtained at the home university. CBS allows the student to develop the skill of working under the pressure of a heavy workload similar to their future position in a business environment. If a student does not take the required number of credits, a resident visa will not be issued and can be revoked if the load is not maintained.
Can I register for both undergraduate and graduate courses?
Undergraduate courses are reserved for undergraduate students, and graduate courses are reserved for graduate students. Students from different levels may by put on a waiting list for a course, which is not at their level, provided they have satisfied the prerequisites. Nevertheless, if there is not adequate space available, then the courses will be restricted to only the same level of students.
