There are many reasons why I decided to pursue a Masters degree at CBS. Having been born and raised in Southern California, I was really excited to pursue something different. My first experience in Copenhagen was during my Junior year of college. I was still living in Southern California and decided going abroad was something I needed to do to broaden my horizons. I ended up in Copenhagen because of the business and economics programs offered. I soon realized that I would get more out of my abroad experience than just what I learned in the classroom. Because of the amazing experiences I had in Copenhagen, I decided CBS was my number one choice for graduate school.
I moved to Denmark in mid August and started my Masters in Applied Economics and Finance three weeks later. Out of the more than 150 students in my program, I am the only American. The majority of the students come from Scandinavia and there are also a wide variety that come from all over the world. I enjoy the international aspect and think the diversity is enhancing the classroom atmosphere. Another advantage to being a student at CBS is the vast network of corporate relationships the school maintains. There are numerous corporate sponsored events that take place on campus and the school is really involved with the students academic and professional success.
Living in Copenhagen has been an amazing experience in itself. I love the size and beauty of the city and the wide variety of activities available. Everything is accessible by walking, biking or metro. The Danes are particularly good at English, which is helpful as a foreigner. I have also noticed that they are very nice, stylish and very attractive overall. I look forward to continue exploring Copenhagen as well as getting to know more of the citizens here.
I would be happy to help anyone with any questions about CBS or life in Denmark in general. Please feel free to contact me.
