I was looking for a Master’s in leadership and management and I knew wanted to go to Denmark. I decided to google the combination and Copenhagen Business School came up as the first result. The programme is very diverse and I really enjoy the social science angle. The teaching methods here are different from what I am use to and this appeals to me. Here we study in groups and we all participate in important discussions during class – you become a far more “active” student here at CBS, rather than passively learning the theory. I am in a study group with a girl from Poland, Iceland, Germany and Denmark and we work really well together.
When I am not studying, I go out with my friends from the programme. I am into jazz music and in Copenhagen jazz is really popular, there is even a jazz festival every summer and I am really looking forward to it.
My plan is to buy a bicycle soon to get around Copenhagen. I love the fact that you are able to go around the whole city by bike. There is not too much traffic and it is easy to find your way around.
Danes seem very healthy to me, they are very conscientious about eating right and many buy organic food, even the students. For instance, many of my classmates bring carrots school and eat them in between lectures – and I think this is a good way to keep your energy level up, when you spend the whole day having lectures and studying.
I stay in contact with my famlily back home by chatting with them on yahoo chat and I write mails to my friends. In Denmark everybody is on Facebook, so I started using that as well. Like most places, you can get prepaid phone cards here and I use it a lot to call my parents.
