India -MSc AEf

Pradeep Kushwaha

My name is Pradeep Kushwaha and I am second year Masters student at CBS studying Applied Economics and Finance (AEF) program. I have been here for more than a year and have enjoyed my time here. This semester I am doing an exchange program at the University of Michigan and will be going back to CBS in Jan 2011.
I learnt about CBS from a friend of mine while I was studying for my bachelors at the University of Richmond, USA. I looked at the program and really liked the applied aspects of finance courses. I was also offered a scholarship to attend CBS. It felt like a great opportunity, so I decided to come here.
It has been a great learning experience for me. There are so many things to do in Copenhagen and CBS. Also, there are quite a number of international students in my program, so I have a few international friends. We had introduction week in the first week. For this week we paid a small activity fee and received an action packed time in return. We saw Tivoli, the Little Mermaid and a lot of the sights, and there were parties and events to enjoy as well. The 2nd year Master’s students organized the intro and they made a big effort to make us feel welcome.
I have a part time job in Copenhagen alongside my studies for 15 hours a week. It’s very common for students to have a part-time job here and the extra bit of income is very useful.
Definitely the best thing about Copenhagen is that everyone speaks very good English. People are friendly and willing to help and the biking culture here is unique. You don’t have to worry about taking the metro, train or bus because you can just bike everywhere. It is also a very safe city. People trust each other and has very low crime rate.
Danish food is good, especially rye bread. Also, if I want some Indian food, it’s not a problem as there are many Indian stores in Copenhagen. I use the website www.Indiansindenmark.com as it has lots of information that Indian students might need.
I would be willing to help perspective students with any queries regarding CBS. You are very welcome to ask.
