Application Process

Individuals who are NOT students at CBS partner universities may apply to study at CBS for one or two semesters as a FreeMover.

If you do not attend one of CBS partner universities, then you can apply to come as a FreeMover for one or two semesters. 
Autumn 2011
The deadline for applying for the autumn 2011 is 17 May. The application must be done online, via a link that you will receive from us via email. All prospective freemover applicants must write to receipt.intoff@cbs.dk to request to receive the link. The online application opens 9 May 2011 in the afternoon (Danish time), so this is when you can expect to receive the link.
Spring 2012
The deadline for apply for the spring 2012 is 22 November. The application must be done online, via a link that you will receive from us via email. All prospective freemover applicants must write to receipt.intoff@cbs.dk to request at this link. The application process open early November2012, so this is when you can expect to receive the link. The exact date has yet to be decided but we will update the web as soon as we know more.
 
The following attachments must to be scanned and uploaded as part of the application process (each document in a separate scan, please). So make sure to have these documents ready before you begin the online application process:
  1. Letter from home university stating credit transfer will be given for the courses taken at CBS.
    Please note: Only students who need 30 ECTS credits will be accepted as a FreeMover. Students that need less than 30 ECTS credits will not be granted permission to study at CBS.
  2. Letter providing proof of current enrollment at home university.
  3. Your CV/resumé in English
  4. Scan (pdf or jpg) of your passport (photo page)
  5. Copy of your most recent university transcript.
  6. Scores from one of the following English proficiency test scores are required (see exceptions in nmber 8 below) for non-native English speakers:
    1. TOEFL: 577 (PBT) or 91 (iBT) or above OR
    NOTE that the requirement for the internship course is higher: 600 (PBT) or 100 (iBT) or above OR
    2. CPE (Certifcate of Proficiency in English) (Level C2) OR
    3. CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) (Level C1) OR
    4. IELTS: 6.5 or above OR.
    NOTE: TOEIC: this test is no longer accepted. In addition to the above-mentioned alternative to the TOEFL, there are several others found at this link: English Proficiency Alternatives . Please note that other proficiency tests are not recognized by CBS.
    The following conditions are the only exceptions to the above requirements for proof of English proficiency:
    1. Scandinavian students
    2. Students with English as a mother tongue
    3. Students that have completed, or are undertaking, a university degree taught entirely in English
    4. CEMS students
    5. Language students, if the language is English
    6. Students from the French-speaking part of Canada
    7. Double degree students
    8. Students wil verbal GMAT/GRE verbal scores over 577/35, respectively.
Choice of Courses:
If your application is approved by the international office, you will be sent an information package by post. In this will be information about your CBS e-mail account and a letter of acceptance, among other things.
Course catalogues for the graduate and undergraduate levels will be online toward the end of October. The deadline for submitting your Choice of Courses to CBS is November 15 as you are supposed to choose your courses as part of the online application.
