"Being part of a case competition team was a true learning experience, both on a academic and personal level. Academically you are given the possibility to consolidate various elements from your previous academic courses and gain a coherent understanding of their interconnectedness. Further more you are confronted with business applicable situations, where you will learn how to think on your feet. On a more personal level you are exposed to a dynamic group of extremely knowledgable and varied people that will give you an amazing time and a good future network."

"Representing CBS in international case competitions has been the single most rewarding experience during my time at CBS. The entire process is very well organized, and the experience of competing against other schools, presenting before a panel judges (Board of Directors) and being part of the social event that is a case competition is something that I would recommend to all business students.
Especially, I would like to highlight the training that CBS offers for the students participating in case competitions. These training sessions have taught me more than any course and gave me the chance to apply my theoretical knowledge in a realistic context. In my opinion, no activity at CBS offers you better preparation for your future career than participating in case competitions. |

"Being a part of one of the Case Competition teams at CBS was a great experience and an opportunity that every student should attempt to take. The months of training were quite intense, but also very rewarding as you work with some very talented and ambitious CBS students and attend workshops with top consultancy firms. The case competition at the George Washington University was very challenging and the competition was fierce, but there was also time to enjoy the city and network by doing social activities with the other teams. There is no doubt that the experience and skills I acquired through the training and the competition will be very helpful in my future career in consulting."

"Representing CBS at a case competition was one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences throughout my CBS career.
Not only did I get the chance to work with some of the best students at CBS and top consultancy firms, but I also contributed to the first victory of an all female team in the history of CBS case competitions. The preparation workshops as well as the case competition itself provided me with great problem solving skills and an experience for a lifetime not only on the academic level but also on the social level through the people I met.
For our team, holding the trophy in our hands after the one-week long case competition was the ultimate reward letting us forget the countless hours of preparation and days with almost no sleep. A moment that I am confident we will never forget.
… the victory at the case competition was even topped by a great job offer from the case competition company few weeks later."

"Initially as I applied for CC, I naively saw it as a possibility to test my already acquired academic 'skills' and it is fair to say that I was indeed unaware of the personal development which was ahead of me. Everything from preparing to solve the case to actually being abroad, threw me out of my usual 'comfort zone' and I have never before - at work or in school - been more challenged. This has made a huge impact as it forced me to reconsider what I can personally contribute with on a team, not only in terms of specialities or problem-solving skills, but also in terms of group dynamics. The process of participating in a case competition is completely undervalued - it 'breaks you down' and 'builds you up' again - and once you understand what you really learned, you pity everyone who never took a chance and applied. Participating in case competition is a Bachelor of Science in itself.
Thank you Stephanie!"

"Being offered a spot on one of the case competition teams has been one of the highlights from my studies at CBS. It gave me the opportunity to spar with top students from CBS as well as the top consultancy firms in the case preparation phase, prior to the competition. The tools and processes learned from this phase are being put into use in my daily work. The most important thing to me throughout the competition was the team. During both the preparation phase and especially at the competition, we benefited from each other on both an academic and social level. We still spent a lot of time together. I can strongly recommend the case competition experience."
