Network access - eduroam at CBS
Copenhagen Business School offers internet access to CBS employees, students (including alumni) and guests from other educational institutions affiliated with ”eduroam”.
There are two ways to connect to the network at CBS: Wireless access or public network plugs.
Use of public network plugs
Network plugs are located in areas such as cafeterias, libraries, auditoriums, group rooms and hallways. Please note that you are not allowed to connect your own computer equipment to network plugs situated in offices or computer rooms.
When you start your internet browser, you are automatically redirected to a page where you have to authenticate yourself in order to gain access to the internet. Use your email address as user name – your password is the one that you normally use with your mail account.
If you are a CBS employee or student, just type your user name (the part of the email address that comes before the @).
Use of the wireless network (Wi-Fi)
CBS offers two wireless networks: CBS-WLAN and eduroam.
CBS-WLAN does not require the installation of extra software. Just choose the network and authenticate yourself as described above.

Warning:
CBS-WLAN is an open and unsecured network. Network traffic is not encrypted. Others may listen in!!!

eduroam
offers safe encrypted wireless access. Windows users use Windows' own internal access method based on PEAP with windows authentication (employees and students).
Find installation guides here
Employees must use eduroam in order to access their personal network drives and administrative systems.
If you need help connecting your PC to the network, please contact the IT counselors at Solbjerg Plads, Dalgas Have or Porcelænshaven.
CBSguest is a system where employees and students can create time limited guest accounts to trusted persons who do not have their own login. The created logins may be used from public network plugs and the wireless CBS-WLAN. To use CBSguest, please login with your windows account at:
Guest accounts have more limitations than eduroam users, student accounts, alumni and employees.
Logging
Please note that all network traffic from public network plugs and wireless access points is logged. All authentications are also logged; both usernames and computer names are registered. When the network is used, all service calls are logged.
Guests from other universities using eduroam have their authentications logged at their home institution. CBS only logs whether the authentication succeeds or fails, and the network use. Likewise CBS logs authentications via eduroam at other institutions.
Wireless network coverage
All of CBS campus is fully covered.
Please note that several circumstances may affect the degree of coverage near the perimeters.
