Copenhagen is a very expensive city to live in. Housing costs have risen over the past years and now constitute a substantial part of a student's budget. The International Office can offer you various accommodation: in residence halls or in a shared apartment. All rooms have Internet access and the rent includes much more than a roof over your head. Our rooms and their furnishings should meet most students' needs during Summer University and compared to private housing or even youth hostels, we stand the comparison and competition very well. In placing our students, we try to mix gender and nationality in order to provide you with an international atmosphere and a lasting international network.

Although the housing prices are "Copenhagenishly" high we hope that you can look at it as part of your current investment to enhance your future international career.

Student housing in Copenhagen can be very different from student housing in many of the countries from which our exchange students come. Below we will explain the different accommodation options we offer here at CBS during ISUP 2010. You will also find information on how to apply and the payment procedures.

How to Apply

When you complete the online application for the International Summer University Program you will also have the opportunity to apply for accomodation. The application process is online.

Should you be prevented from coming to Copenhagen, you must give notice to the CBS Housing Department by 1 June 2010. If you neglect to do so, you will be charged with the full accommodation fee.

Descriptions of the Student Residences Available for ISUP

Note: All residences available for summer students are listed below. For a better feel of the specific residence, please visit our Accommodation website for Exchange Students . However, please note that all other information on that site (including prices) is for semester students only.

Holger Danskes Vej

Holger Danskes Vej is situated in Frederiksberg, which is a popular residential area in Copenhagen. The residence and the area promise tons of atmosphere.

• Type of accommodation
  Student residence. 4 floors, a total of 60 rooms.
• Location
  5 minutes from CBS by bike. 10 minutes by bus.

• Kitchen
  Kitchen with dining area. Kitchenware provided.
• Bathroom
  Two people to each bathroom, except for double rooms where 3 to 4 share one bathroom.

  Every room has a telephone available for incoming calls. For outgoing calls a pre-paid phone card must be purchased. It is possible to access the Internet; however, computers are not provided. You will receive more information about the Internet access upon arrival.

Kathrine Kollegiet

Kathrine Kollegiet is situated in Frederiksberg and accommodates almost 100 students.

• Type of accommodation
  Student residence. 6 floors, a total of 76 rooms, both single and shared available.
• Location
  5-10 minutes from CBS by bike. 10 minutes by bus/Metro.

Peder Skramsgade

Peder Skramsgade is located one street away from another residence, Tordenskjoldsgade, in an attractive part of Copenhagen in the middle of a residential area close to the Royal Theatre, Nyhavn, the main walking street and a lot of other things.

• Type of accommodation
  Student residence on four floors. 7 - 10 rooms on each floor. In all 33 single rooms and 1 double room.
• Location
  Peder Skramsgade is centrally located a few minutes walk from the Kongens Nytorv metro station and is also only a few minutes away from the harbour and canals. You can reach all CBS building either by bike (20 minutes) or by Metro (10 - 15 minutes).

  There is one fully equipped kitchen per floor, which you will be sharing with 7 to 10 other students.
• Bathroom
  There is one shared bathroom per floor. You will be sharing with 7 to 10 other students.

  Rooms do not have telephones, as we have found most exchange students bring their cell phones with them. It is possible to access the Internet and most rooms have a wireless connection. Computers are not provided. You will receive more information about the Internet access upon arrival.

  Laundry facilities are available at the fourth floor. The cost is not included in the rent.

Porcelænshaven 28

The residence at Porcelaenshaven is the only residence situated on campus at CBS and is adjacent to The International Office and the library at Porcelaenshaven.

• Type of accommodation
  Student residence. 5 floors, a total of 100 rooms, all single rooms.
• Location
  Porcelaenshaven is on campus. Walking distance to Dalgas Have or to Solbjerg Plads is about 5-10 minutes.

  Two rooms share one en-suite bathroom. 10 rooms are with own en-suite bathroom.

Tietgenkollegiet

Tietgenkollegiet is a new residence hall that has been built in Copenhagen on Amager. It will be primarily for Danish students; however, 10% of the rooms have been reserved for International students.

• Type of accommodation
  Student residence. 6 floors with 360 rooms. CBS has 18 single rooms.
• Location
  Tietgen Kollegiet is situated in Amager, close to the city centre. Close to the Metro stop Islands Brygge from where it takes about 10-12 min to reach CBS buildings.

  There are community kitchens shared by 12 people.
• Bathroom
  Each room has its own bathroom.

Tordenskjoldsgade

The residence at Tordenskjoldsgade 30 is located in the city center of Copenhagen, in a charming old building situated close to the famous Royal Theatre and Nyhavn.

• Type of Accommodation
  There are three floors with eight rooms on each floor. There is a courtyard with garden furniture.
• Location:
  Tordenskjoldsgade is located centrally in the city center. You can reach all CBS buildings either by bike (25 minutes) or by Metro (10 minutes).

• Kitchen:
  There is one fully equipped kitchen per floor. The kitchens are small, but a small common room for socializing is located on the other side of the hall.
• Bathroom:
  Bathrooms are en-suite or shared with one other person as follows:
  - 3 single rooms with a shared bathroom (two people per bathroom)
  - 15 single rooms with en-suite bathroom
  - 3 double rooms with shared bathroom
• Telephone and Internet Connection:
  Every room has a telephone open for incoming calls. For outgoing calls a pre-paid phone card must be purchased. Internet access is possible from each room. However, computers are not provided. You will receive more information about the Internet access upon arrival.

Valbygårdsvej
The residence at Valbygårdsvej is situated in Valby, a peaceful residential area of Copenhagen. Valby offers a variety of cafés and shops. Søndermarken, a large and lovely park, is only a 10-minute walk away.

• Type of accommodation
  Student residence on 2 floors. There are a total of 36 singe rooms and 4 shared rooms. The rooms vary a lot in terms of shape and space since this is a renovated building.
• Location
  Valbygårdsvej is located close to Valby Station with bus and train connections to the entire city. Transportation time to all CBS buildings by bus is approximately 20 minutes; by bicycle 15 minutes.

• Kitchen
  There is one fully equipped kitchen per floor. The kitchen is spacious with a dining area. This area is where you and the other students meet and spend time together. There is also a very pleasent outside dining area on the 2nd floor balcony.
• Bathroom
  Bathrooms are shared; there are 5-6 bathrooms on each floor. Extra showers and a handicap bathroom can be found on each floor.
• Telephone and Internet
  Every room has a telephone open for incoming calls. For outgoing calls a pre-paid phone card must be purchased. It is possible to access the Internet. Computers are not provided. You will receive more information about the Internet access upon arrival.
• Laundry
  Laundry facilities (washers and dryers) are included in the rent; these are located on both floors.

Øresundskollegiet (only a few rooms available)

Øresundskollegiet is situated in Amager, close to the beach area, a sports area and a busy shopping street (Amagerbrogade). Furthermore, Øresundskollegiet is close to the city centre of Copenhagen.

• Type of Accommodation
  Student residence. CBS only has four shared apartments at disposal.
• Location
  Øresundskollegiet is situated in Amager, close to the Amager Bro metro station, from where it takes about 10-12min to reach CBS buildings.

  Each apartment has its own en-suite kitchen. The kitchens are fully equipped.
• Bathroom
  Each appartment has its own en-suite bathroom

  Every room has a telephone open for incoming calls. For outgoing calls a pre paid phone card must be purchased. It is possible to access the Internet with a fast connection. However,computers are not provided.
• Laundry
  There are laundry facilities (washers and tumble dryers) in the building. Laundry costs are not included in the rent. You will receive more information about the use of the laundry facilities upon your arrival.

Åboulevard 44

The residence at Åboulevard is located in Nørrebro, close to the inner city and the beautiful lakes surrounding the city center. The street can be heavily trafficked, especially during rush hours. Nørrebro is known for its great variety of shops, cafes, and ethnicity.

• Type of accommodation
  Student residence. 2 floors, a total of 10 rooms.
• Location
  Åboulevard is located close to City Hall Square with bus connections to the entire city.Transportation time to the CBS by bus is approximately 20 minutes. By bicycle, the school is 15 minutes away.

• Kitchen
  There is one fully equipped kitchen per apartment which includes a dining area. This is where you and the other students will meet and spend time together.
• Bathroom
  Bathrooms are shared; there are 2 bathrooms on each floor.
