Rundetårn was build by King Christian the 4th in 1642, and is Europes oldest observatory that still is being used. No longer by scientists, but by amateur astronomes and the towers many guest. The tower measures 34.8 meters and has no stairs. To get to the top you will have to walk on the spiral path.

Amalienborg is the monarch’s winter residence. The Amalienborg complex consists of four palaces, planned around an octagonal courtyard, in the centre of which stands the French sculptor J.F.J. Saly’s equestrian statue of Frederik V, the founder of Amalienborg Palace and Frederiksstaden, the surrounding district of Copenhagen.

Rosenborg Castle is not only a beautiful historic building, it is also a fascinating museum of cultural history which houses some of Denmark’s greatest cultural treasures, not least the
Crown Jewels and the Danish Crown Regalia. The museum tells the history of the Danish kings through 300 years, from Frederik II in the late 16th century to Frederik VII in the 19th century; the history of the kings since then feature in the Amalienborg Museum.

Christiansborg Palace in the centre of Copenhagen has more than 800 years of history as the power base of the kingdom. Today the palace is home to the Parliament, the Prime Minister's Office and the Supreme Court. In addition, several parts of the palace are used by the Royal House.

The story of Christiania is colour full, long, and filled with battles, victories and defeats. It all began in 1970 when a group of citizens knocked down the fence at the corner of Prinsessegade and Refshalevej. They wanted a playground for their kids and something green to look at. The New Harbour from 1673 began as a busy trading harbour, where ships from all over the world anchored. The New Harbour became known as 'Nyhavn' (Newharbour). The pretty, crooked, old houses, where in times gone by tradesmen occupied, have been beautifully renovated into cosy indoor and outdoor restaurants, with cold beer and jazz music.

The Copenhagen Zoo has existed since 1859, and is home to 3,300 animals and 264 species. Today, the Zoo is a state-of-the-art attraction containing a almost rebuild Children's Zoo, a Zoo Stage and in 2008 a new big elephant house opened. The Zoo also participates actively in nature conservation projects worldwide.
