Welcome to the CBS Africa Initiative

CBS Management has provided funds (seed money) for exploration of further CBS engagement on Africa, under the heading of the ‘CBS Africa Initiative’ (2018-2021). The aim is to develop and prepare a CBS Africa center of excellence for business research, teaching and outreach, building on the established group of top researchers and the existing cross-departmental network at CBS working on Africa (see the Statement of Purpose and Project Plan for further details about the aim of the initiative).

Events
An opening session was held in the spring 2018 to involve interested CBS staff. In the future, workshops, conferences and other events will be organised to facilitate the involvement of and contributions from external stakeholders (researchers as well as practitioners) in the projects undertaken in connection with the Initiative. Activities are posted on this website, as are details of and news about projects, teaching initiatives, and other activities.

Participants
The CBS Africa Initiative is hosted at the Department of Management, Society and Communication (MSC) in collaboration with the Department of Strategy and Innovation (SI), the Department of Operations Management (OM), and the Department of Accounting and Auditing (ACC). So far, a group of core persons (see here for details) has been involved in establishing the Initiative, but we would like to encourage many more CBS colleagues as well as external stakeholders to get involved.

Contact
Please let us know if you want to be part of the Initiative by emailing Søren Jeppesen (Associate Professor, MSC, and Coordinator of the CBS Africa Initiative, sj.msc@cbs.dk ). Feel free to share with interested colleagues – all are welcome to join us!
