MSocSc in Public Management & Social Development
In the Sino-Danish Center in Beijing, CBS offers a completely new Master of Social Sciences programme in cooperation with University of Copenhagen and Aarhus University, as well as our Chinese colleagues. The MSocSc in Public Management and Social Development (PMSD) offers a comparative perspective on welfare state development and processes of social innovation.
Welfare Models and Social Innovation Processes
The programme offers you an overview of welfare states and different welfare models in particular in relation to China and Europe as well as a focused presentation of what makes welfare states work and how they affect the economy and society. You will consider how different models are sustained by different national business systems. A distinctive feature is the programme’s emphasis on social innovation processes, which in recent years have transformed the traditional relationship between the public and the private.
Through project work and internships, you will have opportunities to tailor the programme to your own individual interests and engage with and learn from realworld problems.
Career Opportunities
You will be qualified to work with project management, strategic, operational and policy development in public organisations, NGOs and private companies concerned with welfare reforms, social development and national business system issues. The global perspective of PMSD opens up a wide range of possibilities, and the immersion in Chinese society enables you to assist the many companies that currently flow into China.
