I am interested on rationalities and strategies aiming at increasing social cohesion, with a particular emphasis on those addressed to the integration of immigrants in our societies.
I’m currently involved in a series of projects that aim to de-stabilize extant relations of ethnic domination. The first is the study of the introduction in Sweden of micro-finance to work with marginalized groups (ex-convicts, ex-drug-addicts and immigrant women). Two medium-small saving banks are being studied.
In the second project I am introducing (yes, my debut as a social entrepreneur!) community-based art projects in suburbs with high unemployment rates. Young residents, local politicians, civil society organizations and art schools are collaborating in the production of public art.
I hope that the study of these initiatives will give us a cue on systems of thought and strategies for the dissolution of the immigrant condition.
